About the Book

The Future Has
Been Solved.
Unfortunately.

A darkly comic sci-fi satire about moral perfection, unintended consequences, and the quiet horror of getting everything you asked for.

Gilbert Rochdale Eastman — scientist, inventor, and increasingly confident man — develops a system capable of modeling the moral consequences of any decision with remarkable accuracy. Then, somewhat inevitably, he begins improving the world with it.

When he discovers he can communicate with a woman from the future who informs him that some of his present-day views are no longer considered moral in her time, he makes adjustments. He improves the adjustments. He continues.

The more effective the system becomes, the less room there seems to be for the people using it. What begins as a technological miracle quietly evolves into something far more efficient — and far less human.

"Wow! I love it! It's sooo clever. If the rest of the book goes the way the first part did, my job will be pretty easy."
